Résumé:

Set during a sweltering heat wave in a Viennese suburb, this film intertwines six stories -- Mr. Hruby, an alarm system salesman who's moonlighting as a detective on the trail of a serial car vandal; Klaudia, a former beauty queen trapped in a relationship with a violently abusive boyfriend; The Greek and His Wife, an unspeaking couple suffering the death of their daughter; The Teacher, a masochistic woman trapped in a ménage-a-trois with a criminal type named Wickerl and his sidekick named Lucky; Mr. Walter, a porcine retiree preparing to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary with a woman who's not his late wife -- all of which are tied together with Anna, an apparently brain-damaged hitchhiker.
