Résumé:

Rohit (Roshan) and his brother (Abhishek) live as paying guests with a lovable but childless couple (Shah and Jalal). Rohit falls in love with Sonia, the daughter (Patel) of a business tycoon, but her father doesn't approve of the match because of the class barrier. Rohit then sets off to make a name for himself but is murdered. Shattered, Sonia leaves for her uncle's place in New Zealand but meets Rohit's lookalike Raj (Hrithik in a double role). She once again returns to India but Raj is smitten by her and follows her, only to narrowly escape being killed himself. Sonia and Raja are forced to run away, which is when they discover that Rohit was murdered because he was witness to the murder of a police commissioner.
