Me, Myself and Mum

Synopsis

Is Guillaume actually a girl? By the way his mother has always distinguished him from his brothers, calling them to the table by saying, “Guillaume, boys, dinner!” and calling him “my big girl,” he grew up thinking that he was a girl. Comedian Guillaume Gallienne brings his one-man show to the big screen, where it’s obvious he loves his mother, the selfish wife of a wealthy industrialist, so much that he wanted to be like her. While his macho dad and brothers enjoy rugby, his mother steers Guillaume to dance lessons, where he eventually finds out to his chagrin he’s been taught the female moves. Everyone, including Guillaume, assumes he’s gay. When he goes to an English boys boarding school and falls for a handsome classmate, he suffers his first pangs of rejection. Later, he tries to explore the gay scene in an effort to lose his virginity, but realizes he’s not attracted to men and finally has to admit he’s a heterosexual. He meets Amandine, a woman who helps him understand that his mother treated him as a girl because unconsciously she wanted to be the only woman in his life.
