Résumé:

A respected London lawyer, James Manning (Tom Wilkinson), is married to Anne (Emily Watson), a much younger woman. To keep his wife amused, he allows her to spend time with Bill Bule (Rupert Everett), a young blasé aristocrat. She invites him to a party at their country house, but the following day, Anne finds out that the husband of her faithful cleaning lady was killed in a car accident by a driver who didn’t stop. Learning of the sad news, James begins to suspect Bill is responsible for this tragic accident. He decides to confront him, and Bill admits to everything. But appearances can be deceiving...
