Résumé:

In a small Swedish town of Åmål, Agnes (Lijeberg) is having her 16th birthday, but she is not interested in the usual festivities. Agnes and her older sister Jessica are bored of the small town life. The only gift Agnes wants is Elin (Dahlström), who is wild, impetuous, beautiful and full of confidence. After kissing Elin on a dare, she soon realizes that she enjoyed the experience and would like to try again. Unfortunately Elin is too afraid to admit her true sexual preference and decides to go out with Johan a boy Jessica would like to date. With hearts on the line, secrets and lies are made with everyone too scared to come out with the truth.
