The Christmas Candle

Synopsis

In the small village of Gladbury, deep in the heart of English countryside, legend has it that every 25 years an angel visits the village candlemaker and touches a candle. Whoever lights the candle will get a miracle on Christmas Eve.

But in 1890, at the dawn of the electric age, this centuries-old legend may end. When David (Hans Matheson), a progressive young minister from London, arrives, he has electric light installed in the church, to the wonderment of the parish. Although David's quest to modernize Gladbury puts him at odds with the old world candlemaker, he finds an ally in Emily Barstow (Samantha Barks).

When the candle goes missing, the miraculous and human collide in the most astonishing Christmas Gladbury has ever seen.
