Résumé:

Having learned that Mathilde Stangerson, the daughter of a famous scientist, has been murdered, reporter Joseph Rouletabille and his assistant, a photographer named Sainclair, go to the scene of the crime. No one can explain how the murderer could have gotten in and out of the yellow room without being seen, since it was locked from inside. Dispatched to the premises, the celebrated Inspector Frederic Larsan suspects Darzac, Miss Stangerson's fiancé.
