Résumé:

Though Jorge, of Mexican Mayan descent, and Roberta, his Italian wife, have been living apart for the past few years, they're on good terms and share custody of their son, Natan. However, Roberta will soon be returning to Rome to live and taking Natan with her. To make the most of his last moments with Natan, Jorge takes him to visit his father—Natan's grandfather—who lives on the coast of Banco Chinchorro in a hut on stilts. There, Nathan learns the simple lifestyle of the fishermen and discovers fishing, snorkeling, learns the names of the fish and makes friends with a tame bird.
