Synopsis

After being away for 14 years, Anna (Marianne Farley) returns to the small, close-knit community, Igloolik, in the Canadian Arctic. She is returning from Montreal with her 14-year-old son Tomas (Lukasi Forrest), so he can meet his late father’s Inuit family for the first time.

Tomas is eager to learn about his father's culture, but their homecoming is tempered with disturbing memories. As his mother tries to find her bearings in a place that inspires conflicting emotions, Tomas, introduced to his father’s family and his half-brother, tries to build roots.
