Synopsis
Molly (Melissa McCarthy) abruptly gives up her teaching job to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. To research the crime novel she's planning, Molly goes on a ride-along in Carl (Reno Wilson) and Mike's (Billy Gardell) police car, and she also visits Victoria's workplace at the funeral home.
Later, Molly gets to meet her literary hero, J.C. Small (Susan Sarandon), who dispenses cynical advice. Small turns up again when Carl and Mike book her on a DUI. As for Mike, he gets shot during a robbery, which leads him to have second thoughts about being a cop.
