Synopsis

Set in a squalid Mexican border town, a corrupt and bigoted small-town police chief (Orson Welles) finds himself pitted against an upright Mexican narcotics investigator (Charlton Heston).

The memorable supporting cast includes Janet Leigh as Heston's inquisitive wife, Akim Tamiroff, Zsa Zsa Gabor and Marlene Dietrich as an enigmatic gypsy in this fascinating, dramatic portrait of corruption and morally compromised obsessions.
