JONAS CHERNICK

Date of Birth: July 16, 1973

Award-winning actor Jonas Chernick was born in Winnipeg.

In 2008 he won a Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Series for a guest appearance on the Canadian TV series The Border.

In 2015 he won a Canadian Screen Award as Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series for the mini-series The Best Laid Plans.

Jonas has also played guest starring and/or recurring roles on well-known TV series such as Queer as Folk, Earth: Final Conflict, Doc, Bury the Lead, Little Mosque on the Prairie, Degrassi: The Next Generation and Dark Matter.

Most recently, Jonas wrote, produced and starred in the indie film Borealis (2016), playing the unemployed father of a teenage daughter (played by Joey King) who takes her on a dangerous road drip to show her the Northern Lights.
