Eva Longoria Biography:

EVA LONGORIA

Date of Birth: March 15, 1975

The youngest of four sisters, Eva Longoria was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she grew up on a ranch. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M-Kingsville, then entered a talent contest that took her to Los Angeles, where she was spotted and signed by an agent.

Her first TV role came in 2000, playing a flight attendant on an episode of Beverly Hills, 90210. Shortly after, she was chosen to play Isabella on the long-running daytime drama The Young and the Restless. During her three years on the show, she won an ALMA Award for "Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama." She made the transition to nighttime TV in 2003 when she was cast as Detective Gloria Duran on LA Dragnet.

Now better known in the industry, she landed roles in several TV movies, and when her series came to an end in 2004, Longoria starred in the low budget straight-to-video movie Carlita's Secret. But it was when she was cast as in the regular role of Gabrielle Solis on the ABC mega-hit Desperate Housewives that she became a household name. Along with the rest of the starring cast, she won two Screen Actors Guild awards back to back in 2005 and 2006 for "Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series."

In 2006, she was nominated for a Golden Globe for her work on the series and in 2007, won a People's Choice Award for "Favorite Female TV Star." During her time off from the show, she had the opportunity to appear in several major motion pictures. Her big screen debut came in MGM Picture's Harsh Times (2006), starring Christian Bale. Next up was The Sentinel (2006), co-starring Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland.

In Over Her Dead Body (2008), Longoria finally played a starring role as Paul Rudd's dead fiancée who haunts his current girlfriend. She also landed a role alongside Forest Whitaker and Andy Garcia in the 2013 action thriller A Dark Truth.

Her latest credits include the horror flick Visions (215) with Isla Fisher, the drama Lowriders (2017), the heartwarming comedy Dog Days (2018) and the family adventure film, Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019).

Divorced from actor Tyler Christopher, Longoria married to basketball star Tony Parker in 2007 but filed for divorce three years later, when she discovered he'd been unfaithful. In 2011 she began dating Eduardo Cruz, the younger brother of actress Penélope Cruz, but the pair split just over a year later. She was then rumored to be dating New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez but that also ended several months later.

Named one of People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful" in 2005, and named to their "100 Most Beautiful People" list in 2006 & 2007, Longoria was also named the #1 Hottest Woman in the World on Maxim's annual "Hot 100" list two years in a row. She is the international face of L'Oréal Paris and devotes her time to many charities, including being the national spokesperson for Padres Contra El Cancer, a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families.
