Tom Green

Tom Green Biography:

TOM GREEN

Date of Birth: July 30, 1971

Tom Green was born in Pembroke, Ontario. After attending school in Ottawa, Green went to Algonquin College in Ottawa to do a TV broadcasting program.

Inspired by comics David Letterman and Tony Hawk, Green started to do stand up comedy at Yuk Yuks in Ottawa. It was here that he met future Tom Green Show "coffee-drinker" Phil.

In 1989, Green met Glenn (future co-host of The Tom Green Show), and the two decided to work together in the CHUO-FM radio station, co-hosting an overnight talk show called Nightfall.

After creating a CD, "Stiffenin against the wall" by his group, Organized Rhyme, Green started what he is most famous for, The Tom Green Show. Using the most outrageous tactics and bizarre methods of humor, Green aimed at shocking his viewers each episode. From leaving a cow's head in his parents bed, to filming surgery removing his testicular cancer, the show caught the attention of both viewer and media.

In 1999, the show was bought by MTV and viewership soared. Now living in Los Angeles, Green began to work in film. With a small role in the SNL flop, Superstar, Green moved on to a more juicy role in Road Trip.

Green has also done a great deal of commercials in a short time, from Right Guard and Bigwords.com to a series of Pepsi commercials.

He starred in, co-wrote and directed Freddy Got Fingered (2001), but the film was panned by critics and public alike, not even breaking even at the box office.

Although he married actress Drew Barrymore in 2001, they were separated before the year was through and divorced in 2002.
