Moses Ingram grew up in West Baltimore in a blended family with six other children. As a child, she enrolled in afterschool theater programs and graduated in 2012 from Baltimore School for the Arts. After high school, she obtained an associate degree from Baltimore City Community College. During her college years, she continued to audition and perform in local plays.
In 2015 Moses won the National Society of Arts and Letters DC Chapter Theater Award. She was accepted into Yale's graduate Drama program the following year, gaining full scholarship support. In addition, she won the Princess Grace Award in 2018 for her theater performances.
In 2019, a month after graduating from Yale, she accepted the role of Jolene in Netflix's The Queen's Gambit. She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her performance.
Moses appeared alongside Denzel Washington in the historical thriller The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021), which premiered at the New York Film Festival. In 2022, she was cast as Reva Sevander, who is tasked by Darth Vader to hunt Obi-Wan Kenobi, played by Ewan McGregor, on the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi. Her appearance on the series made her the target of a racist online hate campaign, which she has vocally spoken out on through social media. Ewan McGregor then released a statement to support Moses, saying, "if you’re sending her bullying messages, you're no Star Wars fan." He added, "Moses is a brilliant actor. She is a brilliant woman. And she is absolutely amazing in this series. She brings so much to the series, she brings so much to the franchise. And it just sickened me to my stomach that this had been happening."
