Mark Rosman Biography:

Date of Birth: 1959

Mark Rosman grew up in California and studied at UCLA for two years before going to New York University to study filmmaking. After graduation, he returned to Los Angeles, where he began his career as First Assistant Director on Brian De Palma's Home Movies (1979). Raising his own funds, Rosman directed, wrote and produced the now cult classic horror/thriller The House on Sorority Row as an independent, using non-union actors. Released theatrically in 1983, the film became one of the highest-grossing independent features of the year.

He then moved to television, writing and directing The Blue Yonder, starring Peter Coyote and Art Carney for ABC/Disney. The TV movie earned a CableAce nomination for Best Cable Movie as well as a Writers Guild Award nomination. Rosman went on to write and/or direct more feature films and TV movies starring actors such as Kim Delaney, Jason Gedrick, Sean Young, Ben Cross and Daniel Baldwin.

Continuing with Disney Television, in 2000 he wrote and directed the TV movie Life-Size, starring Tyra Banks and Lindsay Lohan, and Model Behavior, starring Justin Timberlake. He directed episodes of Disney's hit sitcoms Lizzie McGuire, starring Hilary Duff, and Even Stevens before re-teaming with Duff for the Warner Bros. picture A Cinderella Story.

Rosman once again worked with Duff on his next picture, The Perfect Man, for Universal Pictures.

A longtime member of the Directors Guild of America and the Writers Guild of America, he has taught screenwriting, directing and film production at schools such as UCLA Extension and Columbia College Hollywood.
