Mylia, a timid 12-year-old girl, heads off apprehensively to a new high school. Scarred by constant bullying at her previous school, the teen, whose parents are always arguing, meets Jacinthe, a popular, older student. To thank Mylia for helping her with her homework, Jacinthe invites her to a party at her house.
But at the party, Mylia, feeling peer pressure, drinks alcohol for the first time and gets drunk. Jimmy, a boy from her class who lives on the nearby Abenaki reserve, helps Mylia stand her ground and embrace who she really is.
