Synopsis

In the old country of Schlupsk in 1919, Herschel Greenbaum (Seth Rogen) is a ditch digger whose wife dreams of working hard and becoming rich. Hershel makes a vow to his wife that in 100 years, their family will prosper. He gets a job at a pickle factory, but a misstep leads to disaster when he falls into a vat of pickle brine. The factory is condemned.

When Herschel wakes up 100 years later, perfectly preserved, it's a miracle. He makes headlines around the world. Although he hasn't aged a day, he discovers his wife and everyone he knew has passed. The authorities discover he has a great grandson Ben (also played by Seth Rogen), who lives in Brooklyn, so Herschel moves there, hoping to bond with him.
