Synopsis

In her teens, Kate (Sarah Chalke) was picked on by her classmates at school. One day a family moves in across the street from Kate's home on Firefly Lane, and with them Tully (Katherine Heigl), a girl the same age as Kate. Kate, the introvert, and Tully, who quickly becomes the coolest girl in school, form an unlikely duo and become best friends. One night they make promises to each other, saying they will become famous journalists in the future.

The two are able to rely on each other as they work through their problems as teens, maintaining their friendship all the way to adulthood. It’s been many years since their time at Firefly Lane—their lives have changed—but their promises to each other remain the same.

Based on the New York Times bestselling book.
