In the 1990s, Christian and Marie-France des Pallières moved from France to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where Christian, retired from IBM, was appointed director of an NGO. Horrified by the fate of the children they saw searching through the dump looking for food, the couple founded a school for them. Thanks to the contributions of thousands of European donors, their project expanded over the years. So far, it has enabled more than ten thousand Cambodian children to leave the tragic cycle of poverty and secure their future through quality vocational training.
