Synopsis
Following the events of The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker (John Cena), a born killer with expertise on every weapon known to humankind, is supposed to be in prison. During a stay in the hospital for a broken clavicle, he's approached by Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji), who offers him an opportunity to get out of the rest of his sentence by working with him and his team, killing bad people.
Peacemaker teams up with Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), their field handler; John Economos (Steve Agee), head of tech and tactics; Vigilante (Freddie Stroma) and Adebayo (Danielle Brooks), their new recruit. Peacemaker, also known as Chris, gets a first assignment: to kill a Senator, and possibly his wife and children also. He balks, not wanting to kill innocent civilians because that's never been his mission. But he soon finds there's a reason for this particiular target, and once they do surveillance on the Senator and his family, Peacemaker begins to understand what the team is all about. Peacemaker also tries to come to terms with his father, who has been abusive to him throughout his life, especially when he was a child.
