Guillaume is hired as a chauffeur for Anne Walberg, a perfume specialist who earns a living as a "nose." He takes the job because he needs to be able to afford an apartment large enough to allow him to continue shared custody of his 10-year-old daughter. Although Guillaume has a frictional first encounter with his new boss, who is considered anti-social and solitary, a fragile relationship forms between the dedicated father and the reclusive misanthropist, as they develop trust and a mutual understanding.
