Synopsis

Four young women are finalists in Instant Idol, a reality TV show in which an unknown is transformed into a singing star. Cat, a rocker, hopes to win in order to provide her three sons with a better life. Superficial but submissive Manon enters because that’s what her ambitious mother wants. Daphnée was encouraged by the people she works with to audition.

Mimi, a shy small town librarian, is entered without her knowledge by her friend Brigitte. When Mimi gets lost in the streets of Montreal, fans of the show find her and won’t let her go. Meanwhile, the producers, who haven’t put much effort into finding her, decide whether or not they should replace her with another contestant.
