Synopsis
Just as Warren Schmidt (Nicholson) retires, his wife of 42 years suddenly dies. Unhappy with the choices his daughter is making, he sets out in his motor home on a journey of self discovery. He decides to sponsor a six-year-old orphan in Tanzania and they exchange letters. Through these letters, Schmidt begins to discover himself.Loosely based on the 1996 novel of the same name by Louis Begley.
