Synopsis

In a small Mediterranean village, Carmen (Natascha McElhone) has looked after her brother, the local priest, for her entire life. Carmen has never felt like she fit into her community and when the Church abandons her she begins to see the world, and herself, in a new light.

After her brother's passing, Carmen begins to give advice in the confession booth and the community mistakes her for the new priest. While experiencing the world for the first time at the age of 50, Carmen finds love with Paulo (Steven Love) on her journey of self-discovery.
