Synopsis

When her mother dies, Prudence Friedmann, 17, is left alone in the family apartment. Her father is working in Canada and her sister has left home. Feeling lost, Prudence starts skipping school and acquires a new friend in Maryline, when they're both stopped for shoplifting. Maryline takes her to illegal motorcycle races held Friday nights in the southern suburbs of Paris, where she mixes with delinquents, despite her cousin Sonia's disapproval.
