Synopsis

Corsets and long gowns are the order of the day as Elizabeth, the daughter of King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, is crowned Queen of England at the ripe old age of 23 -- but not before being imprisoned by her half-sister Mary. Once on the throne, the young Queen must use every trick in the book to maintain her rightful place.

Received six Academy Award nominations, winning one for Best Makeup.
