Synopsis

Rain Burroughs (Madison Iseman) has early-onset schizophrenia and has very vivid hallucinations that not only bring her stress, but also her parents (Katherine Heigl and Harry Connick, Jr.). For Rain, it's a constant struggle to figure out which of the images, voices and feelings she experiences are real and which are in her mind.

One night Rain hears the cries of a little girl coming from the neighbors' house. Suspicious of her neighbor, who turns out to be a teacher at her school, Rain insists on investigating the attic. Her parents don't believe her, thinking that it's just in Rain's head, so Rain turns to Caleb (Israel Broussard), the new boy at school for help, although she is not sure if he is real himself. Fighting her vivid hallucinations, Rain is determined to figure out what is real, and what isn’t, and save the child in the attic.
