Synopsis
Max Mercer (Archie Yates) is a mischievous and resourceful 10-year-old boy who tries to get the attention of his parents Blake (Pete Holmes) and Carol (Aisling Bea). However, when they find that their family has been split into two separate flights for their Christmas trip to Japan, his parents are too overwhelmed to pay attention to Max. The next morning, when they get the family ready and into the car to go to the airport, they overlook Max, who slept in. He wakes up to an empty house.
Married couple Pam (Ellie Kemper) and Jeff Fritzovski (Rob Delaney) believe the house is empty, and they plan to steal a priceless heirloom from the Mercer family home. It's up to Max to protect it from the thieves… and he will do whatever it takes to keep them out.
