Synopsis

For 20 years, construction worker Gilles has been working several months each year in Iqaluit, while his wife Carmen remains in Montreal, refusing to come with him or even to visit him in the Far North. When he has a bad fall, Gilles is rushed to the hospital in critical condition. As soon as she finds out, Carmen races to his bedside, but he dies a few hours later.

Struggling with pain and incomprehension, his widow wants to know what really happened the night of the accident. She comes across disturbing clues that suggest Gilles may have been hiding things from her. Carmen extends her stay in Iqaluit and discovers with amazement through Gilles’ friend Noah the extent of her husband’s double life.
