Synopsis

When the Bennets get a handsome, wealthy new neighbor in Mr. Bingley (Crispin Bonham-Carter), Mrs. Bennet (Alison Steadman) is immediately determined to have her five daughters, all of whom are still single, meet him. Elizabeth Bennet (Jennifer Ehle), her sister Jane (Susannah Harker) and their younger sisters attend a ball, where Jane catches his eye.

Elizabeth is pleased for her sister, who seems to genuinely like Mr. Bingley. However, Elizabeth takes an instant dislike to his best friend, Mr. Darcy (Colin Firth), who insults her when he thinks she's not listening. Everyone agrees Mr. Darcy is proud, and not worthy of their time, but because of his friendship to Mr. Bingley, Elizabeth crosses his path more than she'd like.

Based on the classic novel by Jane Austen. This mini-series, originally shown on BBC and Masterpiece Theatre, has been remastered in 4K by BritBox.
