Synopsis
F.W. Murnau (Malkovich) is a director making Nosferatu on location in Eastern Europe. Determined to
make this the most authentic movie ever, Murnau has employed a real vampire,
Max Schreck (Dafoe). He
explains Schreck's weird behavior by saying that he is a fastidious method actor. As payment, Schreck
has been promised drug-addicted beauty Greta (
Catherine McCormack). But as Murnau begins filming, the
cast and crew begin to wonder about Schreck, especially as strange things begin to happen on and
around the set.
