Synopsis

While comforting his friend Thomas, whose mother just died, nine-year-old Abu is kidnapped during a violent raid on their village and forced to join the ranks of child soldiers led by Michel Obeke, former Minister of Defence of his African country. Under the guise of fighting for independence, Obeke engaged in various trades with the collusion of Dutch businessmen. Disturbed by the disappearance of his best friend, Thomas insists his father Eduard, a Dutch restaurateur who employs Abu’s mother, do something. Eduard begins his search and along the way, crosses paths with Valerie, an aid worker who runs a refugee camp for escaped child soldiers. With his help, Eduard sets off on the most dangerous part of his journey. Meanwhile, subjected to cruel training, Abu becomes a killing machine.
