Synopsis
Forced underground by the next ice age, survivors of Colony 7 struggle below the frozen surface of the world as food supplies and temperatures continue to drop. Plagued by illness and internal conflict, the colonists suspect the worst when they mysteriously lose contact with the only other known survivors, Colony 5.
Their leader, Briggs (Laurence Fishburne), decides to set off on a dangerous expedition to find out what happened, but is challenged by Mason (Bill Paxton), who has different ideas about what's best for the colonists. Taking Sam (Kevin Zegers) and another volunteer on his mission, Briggs sets off on the long, arduous hike across the icy wasteland. When they reach their destination, they discover a threat far worse than they could have ever imagined.
