The Lone Ranger

The Lone Ranger : Le justicier masqué

Read in French

Synopsis

Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) tells the story of how lawman John Reid (Armie Hammer) became a legend through their first adventure together.

At a carnival, a young boy, dressed as his hero The Lone Ranger, enters an exhibit about the Wild West. He comes upon an exhibit featuring an old Indian Warrior, displayed with a teepee. The young boy is shocked when the figure—a very old Tonto—begins to talk to him. He tells the lad about how he met John Reid, how they became a team and why the Lone Ranger started wearing a mask.

While John Reid is on a train returning to his hometown to practice law, he encounters Butch Cavendish (William Fichtner), an outlaw who is going to trial for his crimes. Tonto is also on that train, having been arrested simply for being an Indian warrior. When the train is robbed and attacked by Butch’s gang, Cavendish escapes, but not without John Reid and Tonto trying to stop him.

It soon becomes Reid’s mission (along with Tonto’s help) to put Cavendish behind bars and seek revenge for a personal tragedy that happened to Reid at the hands of the outlaw.
