Synopsis

During Expo Milano 2015, celebrated chef Massimo Bottura — whose restaurant Osteria Francescana was named the world’s best restaurant in 2016 — invited 60 of his internationally renowned colleagues to join him in transforming food that was scheduled to go to the dumpster into delicious and nutritious meals to be served to hungry people in Italy.

But the documentary does much more than relate this important moment in culinary history: the work evokes touching encounters with the soup kitchen guests — who discovered a welcoming, warm community — and lets us glimpse a part of the heart and soul of the client base.
