Synopsis

Oscar Novak (Perry) is a bumbling, Chicago architect on the rise, who, along with and his business partner, Peter Steinberg (Platt), is offered a deal by tycoon Charles Newman (McDermott). Charles has chosen the two architects to compete against their highly successful arch rivals for the design of a multi-million dollar building.

Impressed by Oscars' dedication, Charles asks Oscar to stay with his mistress, Amy (Campbell), while he's out of town. He does it in the confidence that the architect is gay but he's not. Oscar begins to fall for the beautiful, headstrong artist and becomes frustrated when he realizes that Amy also believes him to be gay. In short order, Oscar's friends, his family, even strangers on the street believe that he is gay.
