Synopsis

In the critically-acclaimed movie To Kill a Mockingbird, Scout Finch (Mary Badham, who received an Academy Award nomination) and her brother Jem (Phillip Alford) live a quiet life in the town of Maycomb, Alabama in the 1930s. They get up to all kinds of mischief with their friend, Dill (John Megna), including trying to get a glimpse of their mysterious neighbor Boo Radley (Robert Duvall), about whom they've heard many rumors.

Their father, attorney Atticus Finch (Gregory Peck, who won both a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award for his work in the movie), although a kind and calm father, has never seemed extraordinary to them.

That is, until he decides to defend Tom Robinson (Brock Peters), a black man accused of raping a white woman (Collin Wilcox). The bigoted townspeople would rather lynch the accused than try him.

While Atticus tries the case, his inquisitive children learn a hard and unforgettable lesson in justice, morality, and prejudice.

Based on the best-selling novel by Harper Lee.
