Synopsis

Of all the teens-in-revolt films of the last century, Jonathan Kaplan's OVER THE EDGE comes in at the top of the heap. Written by Tim Hunter who helmed RIVER'S EDGE, and sharing the same frightening abandon and nihilism, OVER THE EDGE is based on a true story of what happens when an idealized suburban community is built without any consideration for the fact that over 50% of the population is under 15 years old. With little to do but deal drugs, play with guns, vandalize property and self-destruct, the kids of New Granada are about to teach their parents a lesson that won't easily be forgotten. Headed up by an amazing cast of non-professional teen actors -- including the screen debut of Matt Dillon -- OVER THE EDGE sears the screen and takes no prisoners, all set to an incredible soundtrack featuring The Ramones, Cheap Trick and more. (Kier-La Janisse)
