Kate Nelligan Biography:

Date of Birth: March 16, 1951

Although mostly known as a stage actress of astonishing breadth and accomplishment, Nelligan has been known to grace a film or two with her esteemed presence, most notable in The Prince of Tides for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Born in London, Ontario, Canada, Nelligan first discovered her affinity for the limelight when she took to the stage at the University of Toronto.

But after only two years at the U of T, Nelligan took her act overseas to London England's Central School of Speech and Drama, eventually making her London stage debut in 1974 before starring in many West End and Broadway productions.
