Date of Birth: October 17, 1948

Born in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Margot Kidder rose to fame in the role of Lois Lane in the Superman movies of the late 1970s and 1980s opposite Christopher Reeve.

Married and divorced three times, Kidder had a daughter with her first husband, Thomas McGuane. She experienced a period of homelessness in the mid-1990s due to struggles with bipolar disorder.

Kidder passed away in her sleep at the age of 69 on May 13, 2018 at her Montana home.

Her death was ruled a suicide by the coroner, who called it "a result of a self-inflicted drug and alcohol overdose."
