Ashley Park was born in Glendale, California and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She began dancing and playing piano at a young age and by the sixth grade, she was bitten by the theatre bug. In 2006, while in her sophomore year of high school, she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and took eight months to recover. When she returned to school, she was cast in the school's musical, and decided then and there to become a professional performer.
Ashley graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2013 and went on to appear in several Broadway plays, including Mamma Mia! (2014), The King and I (2015) and Mean Girls (2017), for which she earned a Tony nomination as best supporting actress.
After Ashley auditioned for the role of heiress-turned-nanny Mindy on the Netflix series Emily in Paris, series creator Darren Star called her to say he'd seen her in Mean Girls on Broadway and loved her work. She was given the role and in less than two weeks, she was in Paris to begin work on the series.
During the pandemic, she played a regular role as the late fifth member of a '90s girl group on the Peacock comedy series Girls5Eva (2021-22), created by Tina Fey, and returned to film a second season of Emily in Paris.
Recently, Ashley played Gertie Covington in the feature film Mr. Malcolm's List (2022), followed by a starring role as Audrey in the feature film Joy Ride (2023).
