Synopsis

In southern Taiwan, Xiuqin falls for a Dutch ship's doctor named Daley. When he must leave, Daley promises to return, but never does and Xiuqin is left to raise her red-haired daughter alone. Years later, history is set to repeat itself when the daughter falls for a medical student from Taipei who is about to move to America for his studies.
